ADA ARCHITECTURE INC. [ADA] is a leading Saskatoon-based architecture firm incorporated in 1994 by its founding Principal & Architect Arnold Dobroskay. ADA has successfully designed and constructed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of projects in Canada, the U.S., British West Indies and China. The firm is sought out for its expertise on projects ranging from small interior and/or exterior design to large, complex institutional, commercial, retail and industrial buildings.

ADA Architecture’s creative collaborations on hundreds of projects of all sizes, scope and budget include nearly every market sector i.e.: institutional, teaching, laboratory, research, medical, commercial, industrial, process, hospitality, residential and resort facilities.

Today, ADA’s Saskatoon-based independent studio of architecture is led by its second generation partners, Aaron Dobroskay and Craig Cowan. Their personal goals have been to develop long term relationships as trusted advisors built on a commitment to excellence, design, and technical proficiency.

Professional Experience and Expertise

The firm is recognized and registered by the Saskatchewan Association of Architects, and is a full-service, architectural prime consultant providing design and related services for its clients. Services include project management, conceptual studies, detailed design, contract administration, comprehensive building science studies, development of marketing materials and strategies, building condition evaluations, building restoration and rehabilitation, historic preservation and restoration, interior design, code upgrades, renovations, building recycling, conversion, or modernization, and traditional architectural consulting and design.

 The firm has extensive experience with the following building types: office buildings, churches, food and hospitality facilities, health care and dental facilities, institutional, laboratories, retail, sports and recreational facilities, hotels and vacation facilities, historic buildings, underground garages, high-rise residential, industrial and shopping malls.

Through the use of computerized design that far exceeds traditional CAD systems while being fully compatible with them, ADA’s clients benefit from streamlined, cost-effective approaches that not only assure a better product, but reduce errors and increase efficiencies. By constructing three-dimensional computer models for many of our projects they can be utilized in all aspects of the design and project delivery process [including schematic design, detailed design, working drawings, lighting and material studies, photo-realistic rendering, walkthroughs, animations, quantity takeoffs and cost estimating]. Our use of technology and data management systems also allows ADA to focus on best practices, innovative design, alternative solutions, client responsiveness and the incorporation of critical or timely changes.

ADA is committed to the principles of sustainable and universal design wherever applicable and considers sustainable measures a part of every decision whether the project is targeting a green certification or not. ADA and its team have completed numerous LEED certified facilities as well as utilized the sustainable design principles in LEED shadowing applications where LEED certification was problematic, specifically in some renovation projects. ADA has LEED Accredited Professionals in our firm and as a part of our project team.
