BRENT EPP

CAD Technician

Ph.D., MA, BFA, Cert. BDAC

Brent is a CAD technician and Building Information Modeling specialist who has been with ADA since 2013. He enjoys the process of modeling buildings, not only in the production of drawings - from design presentation to construction detail - but also in managing the ways project information is carried out throughout the project. He sees successful building modeling as providing information integration for a productive and collaborative work environment.

Brent has worked in both supporting and lead drafting/modeling roles on a range of commercial and institutional projects. He has enjoyed working in the building information environment of these projects, and using modeling software’s database capabilities to collect and extract information in ways that are responsive to a design dynamic and result in full and complete documentation.

Brent received certification in architectural CAD and BIM at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to his work in field of architectural modeling, Brent’s professional pursuits were in the academic world of architectural and art history, and included graduate degrees, a fellowship at the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal and sessional instructorships. Though he has since turned his professional attention to the world of BIM, he maintains an interest in the histories of different architectural traditions. Brent values collaborative work environments and attention to the details that underpin successful project delivery.
